st veronus still has wonderful tasty food. I especially love the stoemp. BUT they no longer have a lunch menu- which means having lunch here is now much more expensive than it used to be (ie. the stew used to be $11 for lunch, now its $18 off the generic menu). because of this- I likely will only come here for dinner now as Peterborough has lots of other reasonably priced lunch options. I'd heard about this place from several people I knew, but it was never a place that interested me. I think a big part of that was the location, in that silly little mall/office building. We went there to celebrate my fathers birthday, and my first impression was that it was nice, but a little dark. In fact my mother had to step out into the "mall" area just to read her menu. I ordered the shepherds pie (it was the cheapest on the menu and I'm not a big meat eater), as did my boyfriend. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and my dad had the porterhouse. It took over an hour to get our food, the waitress claimed that the steak had to have some special magical way of cooking and that's why it took so long. The small of smoke and fire extinguisher told another story. When our food arrived I thought "Really? That's it?". The portion seemed so small, and the side salad was laughable. However once I started eating I really enjoyed the meal, as did my family, and in the end I wasn't even able to finish it. Then we all got free desert, some sort of cheesecake thing that was pure awesomeness. So in the end, we all really enjoyed our meals and would return again. Hopefully with a shorter wait though. I have a permanent disability, and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my grandma’s 80th birthday. Our waitress was named Sarah and she provided our table with excellent service. She took all our orders properly, and had the food served so quick, considering we were a larger group. My 3 children were quite loud, and yet our server was extremely patient and tolerant of my noisy kids. Most waitresses would never be so tolerant. Dessert was very good also. We had a very good time. After reading the reviews online about this restaurant I was apprehensive about going to a staff Xmas get-together involving 16 people. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about. The servers had excellent manners and the food was good (for the price) and was served in a timely manner. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone at our table. We were lucky to have a restaurant accomodate such a large group. The owner made a point of acknowledging the person who had made our reservation. Nice people, good food. I would go back. Lire plus

Have lived in the area for years and Slurp n Burp has always been my favorite spot for breakfast. Good food, good service, bottomless coffee and fabulous location with outdoor patio overlooking lake. We usually do take outs on weekends but went their for lunch on weekday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It didn't look big buffet but wow had lots of varieties to eat and especially fresh nan and tandoori chicken. Not big on Indian desserts too sweet for me. This is a great place to go for greek food. I am also lucky to say that I had the pleasure of having the Shis-Kabob Hut cater my wedding three years ago and we were oh so happy with the results. They served up a great meal to our specifications, and they had to travel 2 hours to get to the venue of the wedding (it was not in peterbourgh) but the food tasted jsut like it was served in the resturant. Went for a friends party, service was a little slow but it's to be expected when you're with a large group and the place is busy. The music was good, and not too loud so that you can't have a conversation, which I like while I'm out for dinner with friends. I had the Baja Quesadilla(3 friends did as well), the wife got a poutine. It was so good I went back for another one a week later. Good to see a traditional type place with a not so traditional menu. They have everything you'd expect them to (burgers, wings etc..) but they had some great choices that really made me appreciate the variety in their menu. I'm definitely going back again.
