Hands down the best place to grab a bite and a cold one in Midland. Patio right on the water and excellent service as well as Live Entertainment - what's not to love! My husband and I were recently at the Mill Cafe for lunch with a few friends from out of town. We have been local to the area, but had not been in since the restaurant was renovated. The decor was delightful and vibrant, with unique artwork covering the walls. We were pleasantly greeted by our server who encouraged us to sit wherever we pleased. The menu was fun and fresh and we found it extremely difficult to have to choose from all the delicious items. Our lunch arrived very quickly, and we were more and more pleased with every bite. IT WAS EXTRAORDINARY! We felt very welcomed by both serving and kitchen staff (as this is an open concept restaurant) and we will gladly be back again! ... and again! Lire plus

Local pub with small-town feel but a huge atmosphere. Well priced, diverse soul food menu, friendly staff, cottage-rustic vibe and a nice selection of beer. We went on Wednesday Wing night and it was packed by 5:30 with a short line-up to get in. They had a table for us right away in a nice location. One of us wanted wings and asked if there were any dry-rubbed flavours, as there didn't appear to be any on the menu. To our delight they had a dry Cajun flavour that was excellent. Wings themselves were large and meaty and the vegetables that came with them were just enough and freshly cut. All of which was served with a generous stack of napkins and wet-wipes. The other ordered the aptly named "Long-Weekend Burger" complete with cheddar & Swiss, sautéed mushrooms & caramelized onions and opted for sweet-potato fries as a side for an additional cost. (I don't know about you, but whenever there's a "long-weekend" in my circle there's always bacon involved ~ but they had another burger with some on it) The burger itself was huge, juicy, and did not have a lot of added flavouring allowing the true taste of the beef to come through. This allowed the flavour to be somewhat customized with the good selection of condiments delivered to the table. Freshly cut tomatoes & red onion topped it under a nice Kaiser roll. Sweet potato fries were plentiful, crisp, long and lightly dusted with sea salt to be complimented by white or malt vinegar and/or their own house dip. Beers were served in a frosted glass, which compelled us to have more than one ~ otherwise this would be in the $11-25 range! Bathrooms were clean and adequate. House was well-kept. The only gripe we had was the dim lighting which made it hard to read the Trivial Pursuit cards at each table (which were a very nice touch, even though they were obviously an older US edition!) It's rare to have a great dining experience in such a packed house. Overall this was a great meal and it will likely become a default destination if we can't decide where else to try. Lire plus

We went for Easter dinner with my dad who was in town and everybody enjoyed their meals. The ambience is nice, the place is clean and the food selection is bountiful. Our server was interactive, attentive and was very professional in a casual, non snobby way. We all enjoyed our meals! This is comparable to going to the Keg, but you can actually make a reservation and the crowds are never as crazy. I'd recommend this place to anybody! Lire plus

I've eaten here many times since moving to the area and have introduced several friends to it now too. It's a small little place with a hockey theme. The booths are kind of small and can be a little claustrophobic, but there are tables out in the open area as well. The food is usually really good. I recommend their nachos. These are not your usual nachos, but are made with cross-cut potatoes with your nacho fixings on top (beef, jalapenos, cheese, olives, peppers). If you're not a big eater, just have this appetizer and you'll be full. The salads are fresh and there are usually some creative things on the specials board. Soups are good and homemade. And if you're a hockey fan, you might run into a few of the Owen Sound Attack on occasion too. Lire plus
