It was my choice. Anywhere I wanted to go for my birthday dinner was the plan. It had been over 10 years since I last ate at the Charcoal Steak House, so that was it.
We made reservations early and were seated at a booth. The restaurant was very dark, which bothered one of my guests, but I loved it. A very warm atmosphere. Private while sitting in a room full of other diners.
We chose the Crab Cakes for our appetizer. They were delicious. Perfectly crusted with panko, soft and tender on the inside. A nice tartar sauce served on the side. The dish also came with a side of pickled cucumber, which I was not a fan of, but my guests loved.
Looking over the menu, we made the obvious choices being in a steak house. The prime rib special, the Nebraska Rib-Eye and the King City Rib-Eye.
The Prime Rib was great. Soft and juicy, but my guest had an issue. She ordered well done, but it was served medium. She still ate it, and loved it, but was not given what she ordered.
My other guest loved the King-City Steak. Served with Sweet Potato Fries. I sampled a bite or two of her steak, and it tasted better than my Nebraska cut.
The steak I chose, the Nebraska Rib, was wonderful. But again, the kitchen was a little off with the cooking. I ordered medium, and was served well done. Regardless, it still was one of the best steaks I've ever had. The ends of the steak had that perfect crunchy crust that everyone loves on a Rib Steak.
We passed on dessert, seeing I had a cake at home waiting. After chatting to our waitress, my guest let it slip that it was my birthday, before the bill came she brought out a peice of Mint Ice Cream Cake free of charge. I appreciated that.

LOVE this place! The food is always fantastic, the 'atmosphere' is Euro-hip, "are we in in Belgium, Berlin or London Soho??" SO not typical Guelph.
The staff don't start with a Big Box "hi my name is ..." and frankly, I'm happier to know that when they do stop to chat (it's a busy place sometimes and they're pro) it's an honest conversation.
Classy, creative, delicious, and won't break your bankroll.
Best date spot in town, bar none!
Late night DJ vibe is cool, and an excellent warmup to a fantastic night on the town.

I've been to my share of Thai and Vietnamese restaurants in the region, and Northern Thai certainly ranks near the top.
The place is clean, if a bit dated in its decor. (And please, if you see this: change your front signage. Blah!) If you've never heard Thai pop music before, you're in for a treat for the next hour or so. Service is always attentive, courteous and mostly friendly. As with most Thai places, very willing to accommodate for vegetarians, too.
The food is colourful, fresh and immensely tasty. Plenty of cilantro and basil to go around for all! The vegetables are plentiful and cooked to perfection. I'm particularly a fan of their Thai sticky rice, a nice change of pace from the standard jasmine rice that most places only offer: dense, flavourful, and arriving in it's own small steam basket. Their vegetable curries are jam-packed with a large variety of fresh veggies and thinly sliced tofu. Om nom noms, indeed!

We have been to Mediteraneo several times. Each visit has always delivered an excellent meal. I usually have the Lamb dinner and while you might pay a bit more for this, it is a very large order, with delicious lemon roast potatoes, tzaziki, rice and a greek salad. Enough to share or take home to tmorrows lunch. I have also had the lamb souvlaki dinner and while you might only get one skewer of meat, you also get the rice, potato, salad and tzaziki. Service is excellent, and friendly. Highly recommend it.

I always order from this location they make amazing pizza even with my super picky requests and I have yet to be disappointed, in fact today I accidentally ordered the wrong toppings on my pizza, totally my fault and I called them and they sent over a new correct pizza. I have been to this place now at least 15 times over the past year and not once have I been disappointed. It seems they keep getting better and better and though my only issue is how impossible it is to get into on Friday and Saturday nights.

Decided to take my grandma out for dinner and thought that the Diana would provide enough variety to keep us all happy (grandma as well as our young children).
We had an earlier reservation, but even as the restaurant got busier, the service was good and attentive.
Our girls decided on the cheesy pasta (kids option). It came super quick and was served at an appropriate temperature for them to dig in immediately. So many restaurants place piping hot food in front of kids. I also ordered a side of steamed broccoli for the girls.
While my kids gobbled it up, my only suggestion is that they work on it a bit. Seemed a little bit like pasta in milk with shredded cheese. But, as I said, my kids gobbled it up.
I had calamari and a greek salad (both appetizers), my husband had the lamb medallions, grandma had the halibut and her partner had the vegetable pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
The Diana offers an amazing variety (greek salad, pasta, steak, curries, etc) and we continue to go there as our default Guelph restaurant. In fact, we will be going back there for breakfast tomorrow morning with more family! Their chai is delicious! :)

I had the olive dish to start, this dish is simple but very well done, I enjoy some olives with a nice cold pint and a piece of bread to go with it, the oil lightly flavored with fresh herbs, although a better quality oil would have been nice it was still well done.
After that i decided to try the fish and chips since it is VERY hard to find good fish and chips I thought if they understand how olives can be enjoyed they might do a good fish a chip, and I was right, homemade chips and a perfectly cooked fish.
I will return.

Went in on a Monday afternoon had their special 'Panko Fried Bass w/ fries, gravy & Coleslaw' SO good! I prefer to come here in the afternoon when it is a bit more quiet or get take out in the evening as this place start hoppin in the evenings. But man this place is one of the top Five in fergus for sure! I also recommend their Cod and Fries!

Incredible service 100%. The sticky toffee pudding is TO DIE FOR. Their mussles are so good that my 10yo orders them every time we were there. Yeah, that’s right, a 10yo. The same kid who won’t even look at a pizza if it has touched pizza sauce.
During COVID, the service standard has been consistently amazing. Even with all the obstacles the food is so delicious, and now THEY DELIVER, which is so much better than pizza every night.

Kismet is my go-to place for Indian/Bangladeshi food in Waterloo. I usually get take out because the space is pretty small, and I've never had a problem with the people at the cash. My partner is not a fan of cilantro and they've never given as a problem when we ask for items without.
Their naan is the best I've had in Waterloo (Grain of Salt in Cambridge is the only place I've tried with better naan). Much better than the sort of pancakey stuff I've seen at other places *cough*Curry in a Hurry.
I really like their aloo gobi, which is potato and caulifower with curry spices. Their chicken korma is also delicious.
